INSPIRATION BOARD:  Land Of The Free With the July 4th holiday coming up around the corner, we couldn’t help but get into a festive mood with this week’s INSPIRATION BOARD.  Independence Day happens to be one of our favorite holidays of the year — and not only because it’s one of our birthdays!  Since the holiday falls during the peak of summer, we’re usually blessed with a day full of great weather, and with the day off, plenty of time to spend with family and friends. These fashionphiles showed exactly how to flaunt your American spirit with a mix of stars, stripes, denim, and attitude.  We love a standout 4th of July piece together with something a little grungier to give the look some edge.  Personally, we think the easiest, most flattering combo is a simpleflag tank paired with short denim cutoffs and oversized aviators, a la queen of cool Kate Bosworth. STYLE STALKER:  Ela Glos Stylish & Disorderly:  Elisabeth “Ela” Glos is a psychology student and fashion blogger from Wroclaw, Poland.  On her site NEW FASHION DISORDER, Ela jokes that she’s also a “juggler and monocyclist [and] second hand hunter” — a witty, fitting analogy for her multi-faceted style. Look She Loves:  Just like her outfit photos suggest, Ela’s style is all about the interesting and unexpected mix of opposites — she’s known to take more boyish items like harem jeans and pair them with pastel colors, or combine pieces from the latest collections with her favorite thrift store finds.  Given that, a key component to her look is also a very well-executed approach to layering. Why We Stalk Her:  In general, it’s probably safe to say that the words “girly” and “badass” aren’t normally thought of in the same vein, but when they’re both being used to describe Ela’s style, the adjectives become perfectly suitable together — but the connection can only be explained with a look at Ela’s style resumé.  We also love how Ela is able to transition masterfully and seamlessly from a feminine floral mini one day to an ensemble of denim, leather, and dreads the next.
